Sony Launches Goofy Music Player: The Rolly

Sony's egg cracked? Japan surprised me with its abundance of new gadgets. The latest gadget from Japan, Sony Rolly, is no exception.

Unveiled on Monday, Rolly is egg-shaped instrument that can flip and rotate the blades rotate the robot along the floor and shoot up a storm in the middle of the neon light show green and blue.

In addition to playing music from its internal memory Rolly can also receive music streamed via a Bluetooth connection.

As far as I'm concerned the best part of the Rolly is its reported ability to analyze and find music dance movements. Users can even program the Rolly moves.

The gadget is small enough to fit in your hand and comes with 1GB of internal memory (about 500 songs, although the programming of dance moves more complex Rolly reduce this capability), stereo speakers, and five hours of battery life.

It goes on sale in Japan Sept. 29 for the equivalent of about $ 353 U.S.. No word if she will do in the U.S. for sale. Fingers crossed it.

No, not interested in buying one. As one whose music collection can be a serious shortage of dance music, I could see I was down to $ 350 Rolly. Gadgets are vulnerable to price reductions in these days, maybe Sony has cut the price, sometimes in October? In the meantime, I hope that one of my friends, instead of buying it, so I can play.

If Sony's marketing campaign, there is evidence seems to want to emulate what is on the dance floor is just fun. Here's a link to a funny commercial for Sony Rolly strongest in Japan, where people are trying to get Rolly moves.
